I don't know, but I can put away a big bowl of it. I know I'm not supposed to, but it goes down real easy.

popcorn is my go to snack food when I want to feel like I'm splurging. I allow myself to have 3 cups with 1 Tbs of melted butter. Like Missy said, I do measure the portions and log the calories/fat.

I was about 3 years postOp before I ever felt the urge to try popcorn again...one of my old favorites!

I rarely eat it even now, but instead of "the TUB" manage with the smallest dry version at the movie (maybe twice a year) and perhaps once every 3 or 4 months at home.

The micro stuff you pop, sometimes I will eat nearly 1/2 a bag of it...and actually DO 'stop' before it's gone.

popcorn is also my "go to" food. I can't eat a huge big bowl, but I can still eat a microwave bag...mostly. My surgeon says no restrictions on popcorn.

I like popcorn and can eat it, but I usually end up barfing up the husks about 30 minutes later--maybe I just eat it too quickly? Probably--that's definitely my MO! Haha!

It's funny you asked about popcorn. I wondered if it was a food that would get stuck ornot!

I'm cleaning my pantry in preparation (band date 14 Feb! Yay!!) and I'd bought from Sams a box of 100 calorie bags of Pop Secret.

So...I guess I better hold on to them huh? I love popcorn too!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
