Jewelsm1127 351 Posted February 5, 2013 I started mushies and my weight loss STOPPED totally. I fluctuated up about 2lbs. Soft foods...same thing. Started on solids 2 weeks later and voila! Weight started coming off again. Hang in there and don't worry.

But im barely eating too and i dont understand Hi Blondie, Weight gain/stall is very normal during these stages. Just know that this is 'temporary'. Your new stomache is healing, and so is the rest of your body. Stay on track, follow your surgeons instructions and before you know it, you will be shedding off those pounds. Hang in there (hugs)

daisychains7 427 Posted February 5, 2013 It happened to me too when I got off the liquids. I gained 8lbs. It's completely normal! Don't expect to lose weight for the first 6 weeks or so. You have a lifetime to work your band. But you've got to heal first.
B-52 7,113 Posted February 5, 2013 Everyone looses weight pre and post op because you are on a strict diet...it's not the band.... 1 momth after my surgery, I had a 4cc fill, and after that I gained weight....I was upset to say the least.... Fortunatley I have a good Dr., and he explained to me exactly what the band is designed to do, and explained to me untill he gets it properly adjusted, the band is not doing much of anything at all.... It took me 3 fils, in about 4 months, to get to the point where the band was "activated" so to speak and began to do it's magic.... Right now, just after surgery....all one can do is good dieting techniques....and I STINK at dieting, otherwise I would not have needed surgery to loose weight...I could have done it on my own.... I read posts after posts from people who have just had surgery and are complaining that they are not loosing weight....do people actually understand how the band works??? By-pass or sleeve is instant...one minute you don't have it, the next you do.....it's there or it isn't there...... The band, once it is there, has to be adjusted to fit the individual.....that's why it is adjustable..... 3 daisychains7, vanessa1215 and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
