Hi all, I can't post to our feb group from my phone so I'm posting here. I'm at the hospital ready for my 12 pm surgery. My band is getting replaced and I am so psyched to be a big loser again!!

Hi ladies! Bit of a bumpy start for me but improving. I have a morphine sensitivity and get heart palpitations so they go with different drugs. Well the other drug was doing it, too, so it took like 6 hours to get my pain out of control. Of course the majority of the pain is gas, and every time u get out of bed I'm doing better bit by bit. I haven't done a lap yet but can get in and out of bed on my own.

I'm staying overnight and hope to be discharged tomorrow.

Doc said my stomach was really skinny :)

Moving around much better. My gas shoulder pain is diminished and I'm on liquid Tylenol. I felt totally and completely awful yesterday, let me tell you. But it gets better so fast.

I should be discharged in a few hours and start the 3 hr trip home. The doc said because my stomach was so skinny she could have filled it to 4 but left it empty to be safe. For which I'm glad. Trying to drink all the Water I can ... While I still can take a somewhat normal mouthful ... And have decided that Propel sucks. :)

Hope my other Feb 4 bandsters are ok! And I think someone is getting banded today but I can't view the group on the iPhone.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
