honorablebeauty 7 Posted February 4, 2013 I am starving. I feel so guilty cause when my hubby went out to return movies I ate rice with a egg. I been drinking Protein Shakes and chicken brooth but it's not cutting the hunger. I don't think I can do this for another 4 days till surgery and 6 weeks after surgery. Help! Im trying to keep my eye on the prize but it is tooooooo hard. 1 karenstatham reacted to this
honk 780 Posted February 4, 2013 I would eat more of the foods you are allowed rather than foods you are not. broth has like 10 cals so even 10 a day is only 100 cals. 1 honorablebeauty reacted to this
Spaness2012 609 Posted February 4, 2013 It is very hard!! Keep your eye on the prize. If we can do this...we can do anything! I am on Day 13 and even though it's a little easier....it's still hard. Stop feeling guilty.....guilt is one emotion I know made me FAT! Brush it off and get back in.....today is a new day. Btw...my surgery is on Feb 7th as well. Good luck! 1 honorablebeauty reacted to this

Spaness2012 609 Posted February 11, 2013 how did your surgery go spaness? Surgery went well. I was in much more pain and discomfort than I anticipated. The "gas" is crazy ridiculous. But I am 4 days post op and feel much better....pain is subsiding (gas may take a few more days). I see my doc today for a follow up...which is good because I think I developed "thrush" after surgery. Gross I know...another discomfort I just want to go away. Thank you for following up with me....how are you doing?

Dehydration caused your thrush? Did you have difficulty drinking? 1 honorablebeauty reacted to this

Dehydration caused your thrush? Did you have difficulty drinking? The pain was also more than I anticipated as well. I was expecting to be walking around pain free after 2-3 days. Ya right! I got that idea from the hospital support groups and that was a lie. I heard these people say," i was back at work in 2-3 day." That is some bullshit and now I know if the said that it cause they didn't have anymore sick days or vacation. I took a short term disability which I am happy cause Im going back March 25. My 1st doc appt is Wed. Not sure what he will say but i hope he tells me to eat solids. :-) Well i am happy to say i can drink easily just not to many ounces like before. I just am so tired of laying Down...back cramping and neck. Ugh! But if i sit for long periods i hurt as well. Spansess-how much weight have you lost since surgery? What did your doc say? 1 buckeyegirl4 reacted to this
laurigee 545 Posted February 11, 2013 I wouldn't say that being able to walk around after 2-3 days is a lie! I was one that was able to do so and I own my own business so it had nothing to do with lack of sick days or vacation. I never needed any pain meds! Everyone's bodies are different! Unfortunately it's a wait and see process. I just had a complete hysterectomy 1 1/2 weeks ago and never needed pain meds. Everyone told me how painful it was and I would have a hard time for a few weeks. It scared me to death! I was terrified for nothing! I would say lap band surgery for me was between a 1-2 on the pain scale. However, don't ask me what childbirth was! I'd give that a 10+. LOL....remember, everyone is different!!!! Don't set yourself up for something that may not happen. Go into it with an open mind. Good luck and I hope all goes well for you! 1 buckeyegirl4 reacted to this

Did you have difficulty drinking? I want to say right after surgery (the first 12 hours) for me....the pain was about a 7. Pain meds helped. I took them every 4-6 hours religiously. As of yesterday, I no longer needed the pain meds but still a little sore at the port site. I was up and moving around right after surgery to move gas. And then continued to do so over the weekend. I still feel gas discomfort but "moving" does help. I am not sure any of the anti-gas meds ever helped me. I am pretty sure the "thrush" is from dehydration. I had a hard time with liquids the first 12 hours and then it got better. 1 honorablebeauty reacted to this

I see the doc this morning. I was 222 the day of surgery and 218 today. I lost 18 pounds from start of pre-op (2 weeks liquid diet and then 4 days of post op). honk 780 Posted February 11, 2013 Everyone's pain tolerance is different! I went window shopping day 2 and was back at the gym day 4. Only took liquid Tylenol. NO gas pain a all. I was tired after the gym and needed a nap. 1 laurigee reacted to this
Sunnyd623 13 Posted February 11, 2013 What kind of exercises did you do at the gym just 4 days post-op? Sent from my XT907 using LapBandTalk
