So I'm thinking I'm a bit too tight..I can't sit and eat- I have to stand and/or walk around no matter how slow i eat, and in the car, it's even hard to drink anything but small sips of liquids, like it would be painful to take a pre-band sized gulp ( not a huge gulp).

Does anyone else have this issue?

It sounds like you are too tight for sure. After my first fill, I had similar issues. I could barely eat yogurt without pain and nausea. I called after two days and they loosened right away, I felt relief instantly. I'm not sure if fills will ever work for me. My most recent one was only .2 and its causing headaches and stomach pains

Yea, I've been that tight and got unfilled too, I'm actually starting to get really frustrated with this band for the first time, every time I go to a restaurant I end up running to the bathroom at least once. I feel like I'll never get the right amt of restriction. :(

Yeah you definitely don't want to be too tight, not only does it cause eating issues but it's a major cause of complications.

I'd give your doctor a call and tell them what's going on then go from there. I suspect they'll want you to get a slight unfill.

Best wishes!

I just had my first "too-tight" fill. I gave it 8 days and when it was still taking me 4 hours to drink a cup of liquid - I went in and had it unfilled. Of course, I lost 8lbs in 8 days - so I can see how some people get the idea that there is no such thing as too tight. BUT THERE IS.

It won't do you any good in the long run so visit your surgeon and have some taken out. Aside from possible complications of a too-tight band...no one should have to live like that! LOL

thanks guys! I have also been feeling so weak and lethargic lately, not sure if it's not enough Protein or something else (might mean I have to increase my anti-depressant).

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
