Redesigned_Curves 312 Posted February 1, 2013 I was wondering how long everyone needed off work after the surgery? I know everyone is different, but was was wondering if it is normally closer to 2 weeks or 4. I am scheduled for surgery this Wednesday Feb the 6th, so I was just curious how long I may be off. akwright68 114 Posted February 1, 2013 I was told that I could return to my desk job on Monday. My surgery is scheduled for a Friday. It depends on your job, your doctor and of course how your body will respond.
laurigee 545 Posted February 1, 2013 Had surgery on Thursday and back to work on Monday! If you do heavy lifting in your job that could make a difference!
mzmel 8 Posted February 1, 2013 I had 1 week off!! I'm on my feet for 6 hours a day and the first day back was a killer!! But the day after I felt awesome!! Like I hadn't even had the surgery. I think all that walking and being back to normal helped with all the gas and helped my recovery!! But everyone is different! :0)
chantelleb816 33 Posted February 1, 2013 I have two weeks off my surgery was last Thursday. It depends on how you heal and your job.
Julie121212 58 Posted February 1, 2013 I had my surgery on a Wednesday, went to a party Saturday and went back to work on Monday. My job is sedentary so there was no stress there. And I think I have a very high tolerance for pain. Everyone is different, let yourself heal. But getting up and moving helps speed along the healing process! JARS517 54 Posted February 2, 2013 I have my surgery on Monday, Jan. 21. I returned back to work on Tuesday, Jan. 28. I am a teacher. I have definitely been tired in the evenings but I've done well. I also think I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. I only took one dose of the pain killers before I moved on to just liquid tylenol. The heating pad and sf popsicles were my best friends for that week off work. Good luck with your surgery!
Jewelsm1127 351 Posted February 2, 2013 I had mine the Friday before Christmas. 12/21. I have a desk job and although I went back to work because of the holiday I was out and about Monday shopping for six hours and driving myself. I think the walking helps tremendously. I didn't take any kind of meds or pain killers. But I slept like a bear from the minute I got home until 3pm the next day waking up every two hours to drink Water and take a stroll. Definitely listen to your body. And make sure you rest up! :-)
