If you feel you have to tell them anything, other than it's none of their business, lol

Tell them that until you have enough restriction in your band, the band does not work and restriction can take up to 6-7 fills with some ppl.

Are you logging what you eat? I use MyFitnessPal on my phone & computer.

How many calories & Protein are you eating.

Can you give us a sample of your typical day?

When people ask you "how much have you lost?" I'd simply respond with a smile and say "enough". Remember, you don't owe anyone any explanations or reasons. I would even go so far as to nicely ask people to stop asking you. The people who love you should understand, those that don't understand don't matter anyway.

As far as losing, are you counting calories? The truth is, weight loss boils down to simple math. When you burn more calories than you consume you will lose weight. Some lose fast, some lose slow, but you will lose. If you're not counting calories I would recommend doing so. It's the simplest way to to assure you're not eating too many calories.

Best wishes.

I was banded on Nov. 21, 2012 and went through the same thing you are. I went to my doctor after my second fill frustrated and ticked off. They explained to me that it takes a few fills to get to the green zone, which is where you get full faster and stay full and are losing weight. Talk to you doctor and tell him your frustrations. It will get better, good luck.

I would keep a food diary, so you can take it to your Dr or nutritionist and they can help you with a plan.

Doesn't sound like you're eating to much, maybe it is your thyroid.

I've only had 2 fills totaling 4.5cc and not in green zone yet and the only thing that works for me is tracking every morsel I put in my mouth, drinking 64+ oz a day and keeping my Protein to 60grs daily and calories at 1000.

You will start to lose weight, it just takes time and everyone loses at a different rate. Just hang in there!

I apologize to the veterans but my story one more time is: I was banded 11/28/11. I lost 12 lbs the first 2 weeks and then nothing for the next 3 1/2 months. I was in bandster hell for 3 1/2 mos. Late in March of 2012 I received my 3rd fill and I sat down with my nutritionist. The nutritionist really set me straight about what I'm eating and how it's not helping my band to work right. She set me straight and we eliminated some foods that were causing me to stay hungry. The new foods(healthy fish, chicken, veggies) along with a slightly tighter band led me to the green zone finally.

I highly recommend you speak to your nutritionist. It sounds like you're eating mostly slider foods? That's fine if you keep your caloric consumption low but you will be hungry much of the time and will be wasting the effect the band(tool) can do for you?

I was banded dec 19,2012 and I lost about 15lbs in my first two weeks, once I started on mushies I still lost another 10lbs. I too have a thyroid problem and I had stopped taking my meds for it and when I went for my normal dr check up I had gained back 10lbs and she told me it was probably because of my thyroid. I got back onto my meds and I lost 12lbs that week. I know you don't want to blame it on your thyroid but it does affect your weight loss so if your on meds for it then take them and see if it helps. Also I was using muscle milk aswell for my shakes but it has a lot of calories and sugar. I went to Vitamin world and got there shakes it only has 200 cals 2 g of suhar and 30g of Protein per 2 scoops and I just mix it with Water. Also drink a lot of water and make sure your walking and trying to work out. I know you have long work days so it's hard to get to the gym. I hope this helps and don't worry you will lose, stay positive =]

What you are eating is not the proper nutrition for the band. I work 12 hour shifts too but those processed foods (lean cuisine) are not going to help you lose weight. You need to eat more Protein and not eat at 9 oclock at night. I have scrambled eggs, or greek yogurt for Breakfast, a Protein Bar with no sugar in it around 10, veggie burgers or some chicken or tuna salad for lunch and yes I eat my dinner at work around 5 which is of protein sorts. You need to add substance to your diet. You are eating too little and no enough protein in order to lose weight. Again those processed foods wil sabotage you every time. On the days you are off cook stuff and freeze it so you can take it to work with you. You really need to not eat at 9 oclock at night its too late. Your body needs 12 hours to burn a days worth of calories so you wont gain but lose. These are just my suggestions. You have to make time to eat through out the day and cook for yourself on your days off to have lunch for work not tv dinners.

I told the dietician my schedule had me eating dinner at 8 and she said that was fine. In her opinion the issue with eating late is people are rushed/ starving and make poor food choices, and because they are starving they over eat. Between an hour commute, an hour work out, a shower and drive home. I'm not going to get home any earlier! Are you weighing out 3oz of Protein? If you don't measure you will over eat.

I don't cook so I buy a large roasted chicken at costco and take 3 oz breast with me for lunch. In 1/2 cup container put a pinch low fat cheese and fill with salsa. Add to chicken and microwave. Super fast/easy/low fat lunch!

Gotta love those large roasted chickens from Costco! I buy one of those probably every 2-3 weeks and it tides us over for at least two meals.

Muscle milk and frozen food? Not good for you. Too much sugar and salt, etc. you need Protein and roughage to start. Talk with a nutritionist to get back on track. You are eating "slider food" which isn't what you need especially going through everything you did to get banded, is it??

I understand the long shifts and not having time to cook, but get organized and take care of yourself first. Cook on your off time and shop for a week at a time for fresh food and stay out of the frozen crapola aisles. ;). My doctor told me that "most" patients lose the most weight in the first year. That fact alone, helps me remember that this first year is no time to fool around. Of course this also depends on how much you want/need to lose to get to goal, so get down to business and do what you need to do to start losing. No excuses.

I don't mean to sound harsh, but think about it and decide if you want to continue the way you are or get on with the reason you got banded. You can do it. Get myfitnesspal.com on your phone and learn to use it EVERYTIME you put something in your mouth. It only takes seconds. Less time, actually than to pull that zip line on a box end on a Lean Cuisine and nuke it. GOOD LUCK.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
