I'm having very sharp burning pain in my upper abdomen and I know its not gas. My gas pains were very little and located in my left shoulder. I've been walking, resting and taking my pain meds but the pain is very bad no matter what. I had surgery yesterday morning. I'm going to call the surgeon when they open. Ugh.

use your heating pad...its probably the air they pumped into you and there is not o=just one thing that works for everyone. Walking, heating pads stool softner all helped me but do call the doctor for any addition help and answers.

Many times nerves will fill like that. I had that burning pain at one of my incesion sites for a couple of months before it faded. They cut nerves and it will take a little time for everything to heal.

But, as always, keep your doctor in the know about how you are doing and feeling. The doctor can't help if he/she doesn't know what is going on.

Thank you both for the replies. I called my surgeon this morning. She said she cut through muscle and attached my port in my upper to mid abdomen, so both of those could be the culprits! I added one tylenol to my 2 oxycode/4 hours. We will wait and see! I've been walking and moving, but I can't stand up straight with out massive pain.
