Giovy 29 Posted January 30, 2013 I find that I can eat most things really slowly (obviously) haven't tried bread yet but I'm still on semi mushy so ill wait. I eat about a cup of food and though I don't feel excessively full I can go 3-4 hours without feeling hungry again. So my question is does that mean I don't need my first fill? Is this what's it's supposed to be like in the " green zone"?
Gigi_Girl 77 Posted January 30, 2013 It sounds like you are in great shape and can probably delay getting another fill.
marfar7 1,533 Posted January 30, 2013 Wow. I've never heard of a dr filling a band 1/2 way during surgery. How big is your band? Just curious. Marci
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted January 30, 2013 Depending on the size of the band, most docs leave some Fluid in the band during surgery. If you do not feel hungry I would not automatically schedule a fill. Just go in for the check up and discuss with your medical team. 1 Giovy reacted to this
Stephleupagus 35 Posted January 30, 2013 I am just like you, and am 6 weeks out. I did not get a fill yet. 1 Giovy reacted to this
Jewelsm1127 351 Posted January 30, 2013 I say hold off on the fill if you don't need it. I have no fill, banded 12/21, eat 3oz of Protein and maybe a couple of cucumber slices or some cheese 3 times per day with no Snacks and I'm not hungry at all. I'm waiting for the hunger to show up one day so I'm saving my fills for when I really need them! :-) 1 Giovy reacted to this
line-dancer 810 Posted January 31, 2013 have never heard of a 6 cc band if that's the case you probla don't need any fills. I have a 10 cc/band with 6.5 cc and I have to remind my self to eat in four hours so I don't get hungry and grab just anything.....good luck cant wait to hear more

I'm Gettin discouraged[/quote'] I wasn't losing for a couple of weeks and my dr said that I wasn't eating enough calories and that my body was in starvation mode. Once I upped the calories I started losing again. How many calories are u eating? I'm eating about 700-800 calories a day, not enough but I'm still in the mushy stage and have started losing again
PhatKat1127 55 Posted January 31, 2013 Yes 850.. I do feel the hunger pains. I'm down 20 since surgery dec 7th. But I was always good at dropping 10-20 lbs. I want this to work. I'm not doing any bread that seems to give me trouble. My BFF who had it was honest and said she hadn't really changed her eating habits and the fix gave her a fill. I do zucchini lots of green veggies to stay low carb.. And try to have good Protein amount daily. Maybe your right the calorie intake is too low.
Giovy 29 Posted January 31, 2013 My mum gave me some words of wisdom when I got discouraged about not losing any weight. She said it took you years to put it on and it's not going to come off overnight, also other people have lost it why shouldn't you and on the plus the slower you lose it the less lose skin you'll have. So even though I completely understand your frustration stuck with it, try to up your calories, exercise, drink Water and it will happen! Try not to stress either my dr told me stress affects weight loss too. 1 PhatKat1127 reacted to this

It takes a lot of time and patience and determination and we just have to keep marching h on with the hiccups we encounter. When it comes to the excess skin if you've been overweight a long time, have a lot of weight to loose, having children, being older, etc slow weight loss will not even help you in that department. Once the elasticity is gone you're like a deflated balloon, lol but is rather excess skin than being over weight, that can be surgically removed or hidden so much better than fat. 1 Giovy reacted to this
PhatKat1127 55 Posted February 2, 2013 Those are great words!!! I woke up this morning and my scale hasn't changed much but my image in the mirror has. I can see my belly area is a lot smaller and I'm really showing loss in inches. This made me feel more positive! 1 babykins529 reacted to this
