lookingup 0 Posted April 17, 2006 how do you know if you hurt yourself though irresponsible eating post-op? How do you know if you rip your sutures or slip your band? I'm just curious, not in any critical danger or anything.
S@ssen@ch 745 Posted April 17, 2006 The symptoms of a slipped band include a sudden inability to eat. You may vomit on small amounts of things that you ordinarily would be able to tolerate, even liquids. OR, suddenly you can eat very large amounts with no restriction. Both are usually accompanied by reflux. Not just heartburn but reflux as in regurgitating when you lay down to sleep, possibly in your sleep.< /p> Now, if you're fresh post op it's not unusual for you to suddenly be able to eat more than you could before because that post op swelling should be subsiding. Jack had it on the money........any kind of damage/injury should be accompanied with pain. If you've "fallen off the bandwagon", slap yourself upside the head and get back on track. The first few weeks are important to healing despite the deep urges one may have to eat beyond the physician's recommendations. If not, don't worry yourself about unnecessary things like this. You may be setting yourself up for that "falling off the bandwagon" just by thinking about such things. Don't "plan to fail". Do your best, follow the rules and success will follow. mrk520 0 Posted April 18, 2006 I'm 3 1/2 weeks post op and I feel like I can eat anything, I hope that's normal with no fill. I do wonder if I have slipped my band or caused some kind of damage because today for lunch I ate a 8-inch sub from Quiznos. I am really hoping this will change when I get my first fill, I'm just hungry all the time. Anyway good luck!
