What are your calorie goals?

Recommended Posts

I was banded in Mexico, with directions from their nutritionist. I also have a local nutritionist, but neither one has given me a calorie goal included in my plan during recovery. I have a telephone appointment coming up in a few days, and I will clarify, but I'm really curious to know what the rest of you are doing and what is/isn't working. In normal dieting, I know a low calorie diet can sometimes make the body go into famine mode and lower metabolism, but does that happen with the band? I would like to make my goal 900 calories/day - has anyone been successful with that kind of number?

Oh, geez. I did not mean to post this 3 times. I can't figure out how to delete the extra two posts. Sorry everyone!

1000-1200 should be a good goal. Don't go too low, as it will be hard to get your Protein and veggies in. 3 300 calorie meals, is hard to do! Best wishes! Karen

On average I get 1000 cal.

Everyone has a different calorie goal according to their BMI. Be sure you ask Nut when you talk with them .

Good luck!

3500 calories is a pound whether you eat it or drink it.

you have to eat less calories than you burn off to lose weight.

each dr is different as is each person...what i take in cal wise

may not work for someone else. i am just very aware of the (number).

1200 calories - every now and then I have to mix it up and go up to 1500 and then down to 900 just for a day or 2 so my body doesn't get use to the same ole thing. A little shock sometimes kicks start a plateau.

My doctor never set a calorie goal for me. However I do use Myfitnesspal and it says in order to lose 2 pounds a week I can eat 1400 calories a day. Based on my height and weight. Does that sound like too much to you guys? I keep seeing a lot of people saying they only eat 1000 a day, but I struggle to keep mine under the 1400 already. Any suggestions?

I've lost about 90 lbs and am working on the last 40-50 lbs. And so I've only just really started counting caps. I set goal for 1500 cal / day and it's super hard. But I'm super active and so I think that makes a difference. A 500 cal/ day deficit is necessary to lose a pound a week... it can be 500 cal less eaten or 500 cal more burned. I've been relying only on the burned, but now I.am trying for a little of both.

So if your engaging in high intensity calorie burning exercise, you don't have t restrict yourself to 1000 cal/ day to lose. I usually aim for 300-500 cals burned at the gym during the week , then we usually go on long hikes ( or snowshoe) and a long run on the weekend.

I had stalled on weigh loss, so I'm hoping cutting down to 1500 cal/ day plus keeping up the exercise will make a.difference. so far this month it seems to be!

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
