So I went to the doctor office today which is at a different location, but with the same doctor but different nurses :)

and they put in 1cc making it 4cc in my band. When I previously had my fills I was only told to wait a few hours then I could eat solid food. But when I went to the doctors office today they told me 2 days on liquids 1 day on soft food then I could have solids. That's what I'm talking about nurses who know ****.... :D :D

Initially when I first started fills I was told liquids right away but if I was fine then softer foods and the next day if I was fine solids. As I got closer to greenzone it was one day liquids then progress to soft then solids. But you're right we all get different instructions and sometimes from person to person at our centers which can be frustrating and confusing at times.

Wish they would all get their act together and prescribe one set if rules for all banded people, it would stop so much confusion amongst us all.

My doc. says 24 hours liquids, then back to solids. Yes, different instructions from different doctors is confusing. There can be a big difference in post op instructions too. I was on liquids one week, mushies the next, then solid food. I have heard of others on liquids and mushies much longer.

congrats!! i also got my first fill today. He put 5ml in my band. Quick and painless! I was told today liquids, tomorrow mushies and Friday solids. He had me drink Water in front of him after my fill to make sure it would pass through with no problem. Every surgeon is different. :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
