Hello! I'm down 26 lbs and was wondering about my breats today. Do allaen need a breast lift? are there any exercises or tricks to prevent needing surgery? I know that insurance companies don't pay for plastic surgery.

From what I understand it depends on your genes, weight, skin elasticity and luck!

There was no exercise or cream that would have helped mine... I was overweight for most of my adult life, bore a child and lost 220 lbs. and the fact that i was overr 50 added to the orry state of affairs..

Even heavy I wasn't ever large chested...I was only a C cup because of the fat.... So I was doomed.

In December I had the girls lifted and since after all the skin was removed I would have been left with an A cup I added the augmentation. The results are picture perfect and I don't regret it at all.

I consulted with a plastic surgeon and he said my ins shld cover. I was a 46 DD before sx. I lost 110 lbs at maintenance stage now and now I'm 38 c. They look the same as before saggy but not full if you know what I mean. He said if i still have back pain and still get indent marks on shlder that will qualify me. Just had unexpected back sx so maybe this summer will look further into it. Just a FYI I had my yearly mammogram today and since weight loss they had to take extra pics to get a new baseline something I wld of not thought to tell technician but she noticed weight loss and said that makes a difference when radiologist reads films.

Insurance will pay for a breast reduction/lift if proven it is medically necessary....just as jenc87 stated above. I did have dents from my bras in my shoulders, as well as shoulder/neck/back pain from my size F breasts & insurance paid for mine....any my TT!!

I had a friend get 2 lifts through insurance. All u need is documentation have ur dr refer u to physical therapy, go to a chiropractor & some type of spine dr. Have them all write letters & that should do it. I found 2 drs here in atl that are so familiar w/ working w/ ins. To get it done. They will pretty much know what to tell the ins co. To get u approved. Im in the process now

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
