nursemedic83 22 Posted January 30, 2013 I'm nervous, I'm excited, I'm ready for the change. This time next week I will be home and sipping on Water and sucking on ice cubes! Ahhhhh!!! I have been on my liquid diet for 7 days with each day getting easier. I called the nurse and explained I am a nurse and am a zombie at work I am on my feet 8-16 hours a day and she is letting me add up to 2 shakes on my shift days and it has made a world of difference. I work as a prison nurse I can't just be passing out around inmates.... Just sayin. I am so excited. I can't wait to go shopping on the regular side of the store, or not contort myself when I am painting my toenails, and go to an amusement park and fit on all the rides. I had a bad experience at six flags vowed never to go back 6 years ago. My dream job is a flight nurse... That means WEIGHT LIMIT. I want to do the 5ks that I do and not just do them to finish them. I want to kick ass on them. I did the warrior dash last year. It took me almost 2 hours to complete. I couldn't do 4 of the obsticles and I know people were wondering what the hell I was doing there but i finished it!!! And guess what. all ready signed up for the next one in September! I am going to own this new body. I have already registered for the color run, the foam fest, and the run for your life as well as my warrior dash. I had a girl at work we will call her skinny twit say if she was my size she would have fat surgery too. Well I'm not lazy. Never have been. I just need help. I know I'm rambling but not everyone wants to hear about it. They think I am taking the easy way out. My husband is 100% supportive and has been with me 12 years and in that 12 years plus 40 minus 40 plus 40 minus 40 etc etc. and might I add he is 6'4 muscluar 200 pounds and eats whatever he wants.... Jerk. (Sweet loving supportive jerk lol) anyway any thoughts? Words of wisdom???
Cindy2013 99 Posted January 30, 2013 whahoo--counting down now! Good news about adding the shakes. Working such a long shift would be hard. And um, yeah, passing out with the inmates wouldn't be good. You are amazing to do the 5Ks and things. I'll bet you do kick butt at the next one! Being a flight nurse would be a wonderful job. I had pre-term twins and was flown to SLC before they were born. Now 23 years later I still remember the flight crew. Fat surgery? I would not have been able to keep my mouth shut if someone said that to me. I'm keeping my surgery quiet, but once i have lost some weight, word will get out. I was one of those people who thought WLS was the easy way out. My eyes have been opened, and I want to help educate people in my small community. But not until I'm successful at it. 1 Angelizz10 reacted to this

dimpsedee 10 Posted January 30, 2013 You're right, this is NOT the easy way- this is a commitment to a healthier life style. I really wish people would educate themselves before they open their mouths- but I digress. Having a good support system at home is a very good thing. You are going to do great. fashionstylist 458 Posted January 30, 2013 This is definitely a healthier lifestyle! It's a tool. I've decided not to tell anyone I'm having the surgery! Too much negativity and people might try to talk me out of it.

Cindy2013 99 Posted January 30, 2013 ................... Cynthia, I'm keeping mine quiet. They are so nosey at work I would just say I got a personal trainer... The personal trainer thing is a great idea. My husband and children know, as do 2 friends who can keep a secret, but I'm not even telling my mother, or my husband's family. I've told my mom I'm doing a doctor supervised diet; that is all she needs to know. fashionstylist, when is your surgery?
fashionstylist 458 Posted January 31, 2013 I don't have a surgery date. I have my first consultation with the surgeon feb 28 th.
nursemedic83 22 Posted January 31, 2013 I originally kept mine quiet until my husband told his mom who told his sister who told the entire world..... I get so irritated I hear well so and so had it and they gained all their weight back. It's like they are setting me up to fail. And the girl at work that said she would have fat surgey if she was my size that brought all the emotions from high school on. That's one of the reasons I want this procedure. I am tired of being called fat and the big one etc etc. I have 5 days..... Ahhhhhh!!!!! 1 Angelizz10 reacted to this
