Over the summer my band got too tight. I wasn't able to keep anything down and I kept getting fever, chills and body aches. I called my surgeon the same day and his advice was to stick it out, probably a virus.

Well once I got an unfill and started drinking again my pains, chills and fever went away.

I've been throwing up on and off now since Saturday. Last night for supper all I had was a Popsicle. At 4 am I woke up with nausea and threw up the Popsicle. Like clockwork I now have chills, body a he's and a temp of 101. I can't take anything for it because nothing will stay down.

Do I wait until my surgeons office opens and call and beg him to see me or just go to the ER? At least at ER they can give me something for the body aches, and fever that will stay down and they can hydrate me.

Chances are great that my doctor will make me schedule an appt for an unfill and that won't happen until next week when he's in the office again.

Yes, it sounds like dehydration. I would go to the ER and get some IV fluids.

If you pinch the skin on your arms and it stays up a few minutes then you are dehydrated if not then you are not. I would still go to the er and see if they can remove some Fluid.< /p>

This is not always the case, I'd heard that to, but when I became severly dehydrated from having a stomach virus my skin did not do that. However, all other body organs (heart ect) show signs of dehydration to the point I was dizzy, nauseated and would pass out if I stood. They ran 3 liters of Fluid in before I ever needed to urinate.

You don't ever have to wait for a doctor to send you to the ER. I bet you feel just terrible , to the ER and let them take care of you.

Thanks guys. I saw my surgeon this morning and he was "busy". He had drink a cup of juice and told me to come back this afternoon and he will remove the Fluid. My pulse was up, blood pressure down and I have a fever but he told me to keep sipping on juice and he will see me after lunch. I'm not happy. It wouldn't have taken him 5 minutes to fix my band.

When you get fluid you wont ever have to pee because your body absorbs it. Doesnt mean she was dehydrated. Passing out is not a sign of dehydration its a sign you havent eaten. Im sure after her fluid was removed she was fine. Her doctor didnt admit her. Yes pinching your skin does work if you are severely dehydrated. Just sayin and not being rude Im just sayin.

You may not have any symptoms of being dehydrated until its too late. I speak from personal experience. Last August after biking, I passed out. Diagnosis = dehydration. I didn't feel it coming on at all. Woke up in the ER with a pretty good sized knot on my head and a concussion. If you can't get liquids in, get to your Dr. or ER.

I feel so much better today! I got a bit of Fluid removed from my band yesterday afternoon and then started really pushing fluids. My fever is gone, my allergy eyes are way wing again(they were too dry to Water and run yesterday) and all my nausea and vomiting is completely gone.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
