mrscb 0 Posted January 29, 2013 Was banded on the 23rd and am still on Clear Liquids going to full liquids on the 30th. However I am so hungry and tired that I am just miserable. Any suggestions?
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted January 29, 2013 Do you have chicken Soup with Protein? Unflavored can be added to clear liquids and it may help the hungries.
cantwait2start 35 Posted January 29, 2013 I too have been super hungry. It's discouraging because I thought I would feel more restriction after the band. However, at my post-op appt, the Dr said that for some people, they really don't feel much different until the fill begins. Hang in there. You might not feel like you are off to a fast start but the pieces will come together.
SueBee01 630 Posted January 29, 2013 Drink as much as you can, it does help and it will get better!
Banjo257 920 Posted January 29, 2013 Got first fill last week, not feeling any different than before the band. Guess 4cc isn't my lucky number.

However I am so hungry and tired that I am just miserable.Any suggestions? I'm in the same boat. I was banded the 23rd too and the last 3 days I've been hungry. My dr instructed 48hours clear liquid then 1 week full liquids. I have till Friday to suffer through this. But I can have yogurt, Soups blenderized, thin and runny grits and cream of wheat. They said as long as its thin enough to suck up a straw or fall off your spoon. I've been having a hard time with it though. 3 weeks of this sucks. Yesterday, I ate 2 tater tots and a bite of a grilled cheese sandwich but spit it all out. Tonight I ate 2 chicken nuggets about 20 min ago and feel fine. I chewed it up to applesauce consistency and swallowed it. I
leeshabeesh 13 Posted January 30, 2013 I got cut off :-) anyway, I ate them fine. And it doesn't hurt. I know I shouldn't have. I just hope it doesn't cause any problems. It didn't hurt or get stuck though so should it? I drank some hot cocoa earlier slowly but too much I think because that hurt bad inside and I felt nauseous
Giovy 29 Posted January 31, 2013 It's normal to feel hungry on the liquid diet. Your not getting enough calories in. The first couple of weeks are definitely hard but do-able. It's an exercise in will power for sure but try and stick to what the doctor says after all they know what's best. If your stomach was healed enough to eat solids even chewed then your dr would have said so. Stick with it really you'll feel so much stronger for it.
