disneynut 0 Posted April 16, 2006 Hi everyone. I was just wondering if it would be appropriate to send a thank you note to my insurance company's coordinator (the one who sent me the approval letter)? I was approved for lap band and actually had the surgery on 4/6. I have already lost 20 lbs. since then and since I feel like a new woman and a whole new future has opened up for me if a sincere thank you note would be something I feel I should do or if the insurance companies even care. What do you think?
Yoda 0 Posted April 16, 2006 It certainly can't hurt. Besides, everyone always like to be welcomed and hear how the work they do is appreciated. This is prob so much out of the ordinary that it will be well received. It is nice for them to see the "fruits of their action".

Desi80 1 Posted April 16, 2006 i think its a great idea. i plan on my one year bandiversary to send a letter to my insurance company thanking them. I think showing how grateful and healthier we are is a great way to get others improved.
chichigirl 1 Posted April 16, 2006 What a kind and thoughful gesture and YES you should do it. Perhaps if we could encourage more folks who understand the importance of their decisions on others, it could start a trend towards thinking about something other than the 'bottom' line, forgive the pun. But seriously, it will in the long run allow them to save money, if they could just figure that one out. I applaud you for wanting to take this step, so many times we are ready, willing and able to scream and rant and rave when things go wrong, but we must balance things out but letting others know when they are going right as well. Good for you and btw congrats on your success, may you reach your goal and be a hundred times happier than even you expect to be.:clap2: Cindy

disneynut 0 Posted April 17, 2006 Thanks everyone for responding. I will go ahead and write that thank you note. I think it is a good idea for them to hear that I have had such a positive outcome so far that they know they have helped someone who really needed it and it is appreciated. Maybe (for just one brief second) they will think about that when they are reviewing someone else's request for this surgery.
fiveholts714 0 Posted April 17, 2006 I used to work for an insurance company and no one thanked me for anything. So yes, send a note.
wavydaby 1 Posted April 17, 2006 I am glad you are going to send a note. As a former call center customer service rep for a bank, I know what it means to bust your tail to help someone and not get any thanks. Yea, it was my job, but still, was nice when someone would call my manager and tell her what a good job I had done. Especially during the days that it was all MY fault that their check bounced cause they deposited money into the WRONG BANK ATM. You'd be surprised how much that happened.
