Unfortunately you are stil healing and it will be some time before some can drink all 64 oz. Trying all day is the only way and don't try and sip any Water close to the time you drank a Protein drink. The Protein Drink gives you a temporary full feeling and nobody drinks much Water. Try and do what the doctors want us all the do, after eating a meal (yes, Protein Drinks included) after 30-60 minutes depending on your doctor, sip the water. The pouch is new on the band and healing will take several weeks. I stayed on liquids close to 30 days after surgery to help the pouch heal better. Lots of Protein shakes, SF Jello, SF popsicles. Lots of broths with sprinkled dried onions to give it additional flavors.

Best wishe and keep the faith.

It took me about 2 weeks before I could get all my Water down. Your stomach is still swollen and you will have a hard time until the swelling goes down. Just keep sipping. You'll be fine. You're body knows you can't take in as much now, so don't worry about it. Just drink what you can. :)

I just had surgery Tuesday then ended up in the hospital due to some swelling and nausea with vomiting. Headed home now and my diet was advanced to full liquids. I could use some ideas for dinner. I'm hungry!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
