2 days post op and sad

Recommended Posts

I am so sore, it's hard to imagine this all being worth it. I know it will be, but I can't sleep, eat, burp. I'm just miserable. I know it gets better, I just needed to rant.

Hang in there the worst is almost over. And yes, not being able to burp was a bummer. You will be so glad you did this!

Hello lovely Annie I say lovely because I feel ur pain that was me last week I even told my dr I was failing to see the upside,

The pain came as such a shock to me because everywhere I read said that is was more uncomfortable than pain and hell for me that was wrong.

I can say it does get better, I am 13 days post today and whilst I'm not 100 percent I am feeling a hell of a lot better. I do know u see this everywhere but I started doing 2km walks everyday and it helped me strengthen my muscles again and get used to breathing heavy with all the soreness in my gut. I hope this helps ur not alone!!

It gets lot's better. Hang in there. When you start and see your weight loss, the clothes sagging on you, can sit in booths in places you couldn't sit before, you'll love the new you. When the doctor starts removing certain medications because of your loss of weight and your back, legs and feet don't bother you anymore, you will know why you went through all of this. YOU already know diets alone don't work very well form past experiences.

Keep on track! YOU can do it!

Best wishes

Nothing worth having is easy.

Couple of lousy days will lead to a lifetime of healthy and happy.

You can do it! You are stronger than you think you are.

Rent a great movie, read a book you can't put down, and thing to distract your mind. Keep posting!

i got banded jan 7th so i still remember what that feels like pretty dang well.. yeah my parents started clapping whenever i did my little baby burps cuz it was such an accomplishment :) but i agree with what some other people said, i would walk around alot when the pressure was bad and it helped so much. even though i dont know from experience yet cuz i havnt had my first fill yet i know that it will all be worth it!

hang in there, you will feel so much better just within the week!

good luck!

I totally feel your pain Annie. I was banded Wednesday and was miserable until just a day or two ago. I was in tears because the pain was so bad and I was questioning my choice.

It does get better. Make sure to drink, walk and breathe.

I'm starting to feel way better. I slept for almost 10 hours last night. Woke up feeling very little pain. I ate, I feel good. And I get to finally shower today.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
