I can't believe I'm posting this, but I keep getting asked for before & after pics. So, the first one was taken the day of surgery and the second one I just took today.

Day of surgery, 1 year ago, size 46

Thank you so much for posting these. Personally, I'm still avoiding "before" photos.

Posting that before photo wasn't easy. It makes me absolutely cringe to even look at it. So, believe me, I completely understand. Especially since I still have weight to lose.

how wonderful for you to have found the lap band.. you no longer need a cain to walk and you look great... just imagine if you hadn't have done it. Your pictures are inspirational to all of us new banded people.. I can see there is a llight at the end of the tunnell.. I have lost 20 lbs. since pre-op and I got to the Dr. on Monday for my 10 day checkup.....Thanks for posting

Thank you :)

I don't even want to imagine what would've happened if I hadn't got the band last year. I'm convinced I wouldn't have lived to be 50 (I'm 39 now).

And no, I no longer need a cane! :D I have Multiple Sclerosis, so the fact I went from needing a cane just to get across my living room to walking 2 miles a day with ease is nothing less than a miracle to me.

I'm very, very happy!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
