Kekeboo 47 Posted January 25, 2013 Too much Protein can cause kidney issues. there are no benefits to having more than your body needs. A good equation to figure that out is your weight X .48 = daily protein intake. It's not fool proof, but it's what my surgeon gave me. 2 Maddysgram and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this

B-52 7,113 Posted January 25, 2013 Kekeboo is correct. Too much Protein can cause kidney stones. Ditto on that....excess Protein is flushed from the body through the kidneys....too much protein here and there is not to bad, but every day over a period of time......... But remember...banded people have to drink plenty of Water, and kidney health is one of the reasons..... 3 bar2373, Maddysgram and ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

You can get too much protein, in fact years ago I had it happen. I had a raging kidney infection because of a build up of protein when I was on the Atkins diet. This is rare, mind you, but it is possible. More so if you have a history of kidney problems. It's also possible to see a spike in your cholesterol if you're eating a lot of fatty animal protein. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
