Kime-lou 648 Posted January 24, 2013 My nutritionist recommended that I wait 3 months before trying a salad, so that is what I did. I don't have issues with it now.

Kekeboo 47 Posted January 24, 2013 My nutritionist told me that the fibers in iceburg lettuce bond back together after its chewed and swallowed which can cause it to get stuck. Some people my tolerate it, some won't. Romaine lettuce and spinach have a different texture (as well as a healthier option) and "may" not get stuck like iceburg. Allen J. Oh 7 Posted January 24, 2013 I had some shredded iceberg lettuce on a taco for lunch today, and it hasn't gotten stuck (so far -- it was about 90 minutes ago). Yesterday I had a spinach omelet (with whole baby spinach leaves) and mixed greens in a salad for lunch, and both were fine. I think it's probably an individual thing. hely88 883 Posted January 24, 2013 I make my salads without lettuce for the same reason. sometimes I can eat iceburg if very crispy but usually avoid.
lasal 70 Posted September 30, 2014 I am almost 10 months out and every day is different for lettuce. I find it frustrating.
Jim1967 3,569 Posted September 30, 2014 2+ years out and lettuce is still a problem for me. I have very little of it and it has to be shredded very fine.
