Hi Guys n' Gals!

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried any of the FitSmart Protein Powder, when I asked him what he recommended for Protein powder this is what he suggested, and was super happy that it had lots of Fiber in it, he really stressed not getting constipated!!! Just wondering if its band buddy approved before I spend 40 dollars on a tub of it, because I can only find it online :(....

Hi MissV,

Honestly, everyone has different required tastes when it comes to Protein powders. I spent tons of money (wasted) down the drain buying these types of powders.< /p>

Your best bet is start low end, like Walmart for instance - They sell a 2lb tub of Pure Protein chocolate powder for $19.99. Or you can go on unjury.com and order the samples. Everyone raves about their chocolate splendor Protein Powder. You can also go to any GNC store, if you don't like it, you can bring it back. I have even heard that Primere Protein drinks from Costco/BJs is very good too.

Best of luck,

Wow, 40 dollars for a tub of Protein powder! That's really steep! You can add benefiber to a cheaper protein powder. I really like the Unjury and it's about half the price and it's very high quality.

I just got my Unjury starter pack and I will definitely be buying a full chocolate splendor- with milk it taste exactly like chocolate milk. I haven't tried the others yet but I def recommend getting the starter pack. I think it was $22 plus $6 shipping and it came in like 3 days.

I bought the starter pack also. I have tried all of them but the chicken flavor ( kinda nervous about it). I DID NOT like the plain Protein from the moment I opened the pouch. It smelled too much like baby formula for me to use it, and no I didn't try it plain, I tried to mix it in some warm oatmeal.) I just couldn't get past the smell, reminded me of baby puke, sorry.

I love the other flavor though. especially the chocolate splendor, with Decaf coffee mixed in, yummy!

Good luck, hope you enjoy!

Ok I just tried the unflavored in diet raspberry snapple and it was disgusting, I could barely get over the smell. But then I tried it in orange juice and you can't even tell its there! I think I'll try it with other juices.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
