I was soooooooo hungry when I got home I had a couple of handfuls of almonds. Now I feel guilty.. And work wasn't bad but my stomach wouldn't shut up..... I guess I need to add another shake. Is this diet designed for people that don't move around alot??? I am constantly on the move I feel like a zombie....... I am going to start wondering around the healthcare asking for brains.....

Today wasn't bad... I have a really supportive husband even though he is 6'4 and 200 pounds he says he will get fit with me (as I roll my eyes) he is doing shakes and has been eating all the "good food" at work and not around me. Tomorrow I work my part time job which is on an ambulance for 24 hours.... This will be a challenge I will keep 3-4 shakes in the rig that way I'm not tempted.

I start my pre-op diet on Wednesday, so I am getting nervous! I get 3 shakes a day (250 calories each) and am allowed 250 calories of low carb veggies (so no potatoes, carrots, etc) each day, for a total of 1000 calories. I am hoping I can stay mentally alert. I sit at my desk all day, but I need my brain to function! I also worry about headaches the first few days, since I am not allowed to take any pain killers during the two weeks prior to surgery.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
