I had to have all of my Fluid removed on Monday. I was so dehydrated and throwing up bile :( My stomach still feels swollen and I am still having trouble eating certain things but I would prefer to be able to eat and enjoy this time because its my last baby, and because I got the weight off twice before, I can do it again (original WL, then weight loss after band baby #1)

I had 4 cc's in a 14 cc band throughout my nature pregnancy. I didn't have to have any fill taken out. Just make sure you're getting plenty of calories in. You only need 300 extra. I had a very healthy 8lb 9 oz little girl. I stayed exactly the same weight my entire pregnancy and at my two week check up I had lost 30 lbs from delivery day. You can do it. It's completely up to you. Just be aware of how much you're taking in and if you feel like you need more calories don't be afraid to have some fill taken out. You'll drop the weight as soon as the baby gets here.

Hi congrats! So you said you didn't have an unfill at all. Did you have a c section? I am 32 weeks and have not had an unfill and was debating if I should have one since I will be having a c section due yo swolleness. Thanks in advance

I think everyone is different. I had 7cc's in my 10cc band. I didn't have any problems except I would occasionally get stuck. I then would take a sip of something and that would help. My band was completely unfilled at 16 weeks due to a nasty virus that caused severe vomiting. I never had any mornin sickness and stayed filled until that point! Talk to your surgeon and good luck! :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
