Emotional today

Recommended Posts

I was banded on 1/16. I am an emotional mess today. I am feeling physically good and started the full liquid diet of my phase, my gas in my shoulder is still an issue but not unbearable. I am just hating this idle feeling. I normally start my day full speed ahead and do not sit down until dinner time. I am not really good at resting or sitting still. Feeling like I have ants in my pants. Anyone else feel that way in the beginning too?

I had the "ants in the pants" terribly. Plus, I was extremely moody. I think with you being used to getting up and going, this is definitely a big change for you. I would try and take some time to enjoy the resting period. I know it is hard but you need time to heal. I don't know if this helps but I wish you the best and congrats on becoming a "bandster". Blessings ~

Hang in there! It is normal to have some anxiety. You are going through a lot of changes. Maybe you can try walking some? Outside or around the house. It is good to walk and move. It will also help with any gas pains you might experience. Hang on! You have started a wonderful journey and have a ways to go. One day at a time! Best of luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
