You look amazing, keep up the good work. I am down 60lbs and don't see it either. My husband tells me all the time how great I look and how much weight that I have lost. For some reason we continue to see our old selves, as if we don't deserve to be healthy and thin. I know that you will meet your goal and beyond. Good luck with your New Life Journey.

Huge difference!! Great job! Its normal what you are experiencing. A lot of people have the same issue. Try going to a store and trying on some clothes. You are doing awesome!!!

Thank you all actually a guy came back to work today from paternity leave and saw me in the lunchroom and was like whoa u look smaller and I heisted to agree but he was like no I haven't seen u in a while so i see it. :) it's true that maybe we see ourselves daily so we really can't tell. Hooray to all of us may we reach our goals and stay there. Also wanted to share a coworker who I have heard had the band done years ago ( place or work 300 employees) I don't talk to her just smile and nod but I have heard she was huge and now she's ok size but yesterday i saw her getting bacon egg and cheese sandwich and today I saw her devour a chocolate cake like a Good piece. U ladies think i should maybe say something motivational to her. ??!

Think it depends how well you know her and how comfortable you feel.

I can see the difference, and the scale does not lie. You may not see it yourself for a while. For me the brain was the last thing to catch up with the image. Keep up the good work.

And the advice is NO, say nothing to others unless they ask you for advice. It may only embarrass them and make them feel even worse. Trust me from having been there. I KNEW I was huge, and would not have appreciated having it brought to my attention.

It has taken me a very long time to notice my loss, never mind to process it. There are still many days where I think I look the same, though taking regular photos to compare has helped. I also kept a pair of my original pants to try on when I'm not feeling so sure. Another method is to measure yourself so you're not just using the scale.

Hang in there!

I am down 30 as well and don't see a change. I was speaking to a close friend that also has been banded and she had lost 150lbs and SHE doesn't see a difference either. I think we let ourselves go for so long that we can't see a change.

WE usually feel better than we look! Our brains as stated already, takes time to catch up with our bodies. We've been eating the wrong stuff for so long and now we are eating and making better and wiser choices.

One day YOU will feel and look Great in your brain. It's right around the corner! Sometimes these corners are Big, but stay on track and you will get there.

Best wishes

Definately see a difference in the pics. It's funny how we still see our fat selves in that mirror. In time the brain will catch up.

Congratulations, you look fabulous.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
