Remember you are your best advocate. You either need to find new Dr that will work with you, or have a heart to heart with present Dr and not leave the exam room until he addresses your concerns.

Has he made sure you have no leaks, slips or unlatched band?

If band is in working order, he needs to find a Dr for you that can do metabolic test, b/c the numbers don't add up.

Do you actually measure your servings or eye ball them?

We'd really like to help you, but need more answers.

I'm curious too, why they kept you in hospital for 5 days?

I wonder why they said not to follow a Weight Watchers program along with having the band? I am currently doing both, quite successfully I might add since I lost 11.2lbs in 3 weeks!! I found myself eating to much band friendly bad food now that I only see the surgeon every 3 months so I wanted the weekly support of WW to go along with the band & surgeon was all for it since he totally recognizes there is as much of a mental aspect to the process besides the physical.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
