I am wondering how long did the approval for Tummy Tuck? ? And downtime after surgery

My approval took only a few weeks and I did it over 2 week Christmas break. No problem at all. Everyone different. I've read on here where some are out for 6 weeks or more. I was up and driving in week back to work in 2

Wow 2 days that was fast. That's almost unheard of with insurances. That was good. Hopefully the TT approval will be as fast

Ok California... I really hope this Tt gets approve

Let me know of it does. Did you choose a doctor already? The doctor I went to was referred to me and he knew that bcbs would pay for it under those conditions.

My Tummy Tuck took almost 1 year to get approved. I have Tricare though (military insurance) I had to have months worth of documentation from my Primary Physician before they would even consider it. Once approved they only paid for the panniculectomy. I had to pay for the muscle tightening and belly button out of pocket. My doctor said that I did not need Lipo. I kind of wish that I had known what lipo of the flanks was when we arranged all of this because I still feel like I have love handles and a flat stomach, kind of bugs me. But my doctor assured me that it wouldnt be long before I lost those love handles myself. I will get it accomplished. I am two months out. I am doing well.. The pain is pretty much all gone now, except when my allegies send me into a sneezing fit lol. Then my abs are sore for a couple of days. I also swell up if I am up moving around most of the day. Its weird I can feel it when I swell. Well anyway. Good luck to those of you that are in process of getting your TT approved. Hope to hear how your journeys go! :)

Ok. With BSBC through TRS only thing they require is that c section scar or historectomy scar and its approved. It didn't take but a few weeks for approval. After that first day I didn't even have to use the pain killers. The flanks was recommended by the doctor. I'm glad I did it because he say some people end up with a box shape if not ans I definitely didn't want that. Those flanks Lipo give you a serious hour glass lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
