♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted January 18, 2013 It took me about 8 fills over 8 months. I did loose weight during that time and was within 10 pounds of my goal once I was in the green zone. I focused on changing my lifestyle to a healthy life I could live with. And it's working for me. Good luck. 1 kazjim98 reacted to this
Bibliophile 2 Posted January 18, 2013 I've had three and no green zone yet. I was more than discouraged this week when my surgeon's nurse told me most people never feel restricted on the amount they eat. I am hoping she is soooooo wrong.
Kime-lou 648 Posted January 18, 2013 6 fills and I am just really getting where I only want 3 meals a day- no Snacks. Each person is different and it also depends on how quick or slow weight loss is and how much the doctor adds at each fill. I have gotten any where from .4 cc to 1cc at a fill (done with Floro). 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted January 18, 2013 It took me 4 fills to reach a place where I could eat a cup of food per meal and not be hungry again for 4-5 hours. I still lost weight before that because I have always measured my food and counted calories. It just got a lot easier when I was no longer hungry all the time. 1 kazjim98 reacted to this
wildrose1966 396 Posted January 18, 2013 I am at 3, no restriction, still hungry, but have had 3 episodes that weren't 'stuck' but a bit trapped and had to drink Water to push food down. 2x thin bread and 1x cheese and cracker............need to keep in mind small bites and chewing. 1 alosha reacted to this
luvzsweetz 1 Posted January 19, 2013 I think everyone's body is different but by experience the band adjust and keeps adjusting it took my band 6 months to adjust and another 6 for it to get so tight nothing was goin down. I guess everyone has different experiences.

honk 780 Posted January 19, 2013 I can't remember exactly seven or eight took me at least 6 months to get restriction and then after another 7 months I had another fill. Bibliophile I wonder if what your nurse really meant was trying to explain the difference between full versus satisfied. I think many on this forum would tell you what you want is satisfied vs full. As I'm eating I'm asking myself are you satisfied now enough to stop eating? Sometimes if I wait until I feel full then a minute or 2 later I feel uncomfortably full. Some of us don't have soft stops that we can depend on. Sure I wish I was 1 of those people who got soft stops but it's something that I just really have to I think about when I'm eating. Another thing the nurse could of been referring to is the fact that the band won't stop you from eating slider foods. Also some people post on this site I can't wait till my band is tight enough so I can't eat food X or Y; the band is not designed to stop you from eating particular food my surgeon was explicit about that. In general it is possible to lose weight as you are trying for restriction. At this point it is a willpower diet. I highly recommend getting a food scale and weighing your Protein my doctor says 3 oz. 1 Bibliophile reacted to this
luvzsweetz 1 Posted January 19, 2013 My surgery date 328 weight Sept 21, 2012...no Fluid. 1st fill 10/22/2010 5cc, very slow weight loss 2nd fill 1/12/2011 1cc, still very slow weight loss. 3rd fill 2/12/2011 .5cc, still very slow weight loss 4th fill 2/25/2012 .3cc... Sorry remember previous weight losses I have them in different calendars but biggest weight loss April 16 pounds and May 15 pounds. I continued to lose 11/2011 is when I began to have issues with too much tightness had a barium swallow done showing fluid going thru. Removed .8cc, don't have these dates with me, added .5cc. 12/2011 had upper GI X-ray taken showing nothing passing thru unless I took deep breathes that made it go thru. Weight is 240 removed all fluid in band 12/19/2012 today I've gained 16 pounds but have stayed at this weight. I just had a barium done on 1/15/2013 and see my Dr on 1/30/2013. So this was my experience I think I requested to go extreme and it took a while for my body to adjust. So I guess this time around I will give it more time to adjust.
