Depends on your doctor, the biggest fill I ever got was .8cc and that was my first after that I went in for a fill every two weeks and the most I was ever given was . 3 cc otherwise it was .2cc till I got to greenzone. I'm glad it was only small amounts every few weeks as sometimes just even .2 cc made me feel really tight till it settled and also it gave me the opportunity to relearn how to eat each time after a fill. As I got closer to greenzone I was going in every three to four weeks. I've had about five stuck episodes in six months and the last time that happened was three months ago because I learnt my lesson well and learnt how to eat properly by taking small enough bites, chewing well and waiting a minute till the food passed through the band.

In my opinion I think it's better to get very small fills so you don't blow right past the greenzone and hot the redzone then you have to get unfills.

I'm at 8cc and have no problems with any food, even bread unless I get sick and my band really tightens up.

I got my first fill three days ago. Here's my experience: they put in 6 cc and then had me take a sip of Water. I could feel the water all the way up in my throat so they removed some. We did this about four times until I could no longer feel the pressure from the water and it passed through the stoma easily. I ended up with 2.8 cc which she said is about averAge.

it varies for everyone. all doctors are not the same i think i started off with getting 1cc everytime i went in and then it was half cc and now 1/4.... some doctors do alot more then that at first (i wish mine did) and then ive heard alot of people say the same thing as pebbagirl but they should be taking it semi slowly i guess. again it just depends on the dr.

Hi, I had my first fill 9 days ago, the doctor put in 4cc and I feel no restriction, so I am looking forward to another fill as soon as possible. It all depends on your doctor. Good luck.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
