My grandma just passed and the whole family is taking it hard. I know for me that food will be plenty. I have a feeling that I may eat the wrong things... What am I to do???

My most deepest sympathy for your loss!

This will be hard on your emotions and sorry you have to go through this.

I would try to eat as healthy as you can, if you can't do it for yourself at this time, try doing it for your grandma. She would want you to continue on your weight loss journey and become a healthier you. You know she would.

Just do the best you can.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear about your loss. This is going to be a difficult time for you emotionally. I know my biggest problem is emotionally eating. Maybe try to keep some healthier options around to munch on and up your Water intake.

And it you slip up, don't beat yourself up. Just recognize your mistake and move on.

Good luck and I will keep you and your family in my prayers.

So sorry for your loss. Maddysgram said it nicely. You can do this.

Honor your Grandmother, do what is right, but realize this is not a normal time.

I am so incredibly sorry for your loss :(

Just do the best you can. Try to remember that food will only make you feel better for a few fleeting seconds on the tongue, but if you over do it, the remorse and guilt will stick with you for days and weeks. Plus, as Maddysgram said, your grandma would want you healthy.

((hugs))

Thank you all!!!! It's just so hard... I feel helpless and food is right there. I'm going to try and eat healthy, I feel my eating will be up and down. Some days hungry others not hungry...

My deepest sympathies for the loss of your grandma. I miss mine all the time!!!

I think we are so programmed to have food at life events that we take it for granted...when in fact you don't need to focus on the food to comfort yourself. Instead carry a bottle of Water with you and visit with your friends and family members sharing wonderful memories of grandma while THEY eat!! She would have been be very proud of you for sticking with your eating plan.

I am so sorry for your loss. Let yourself feel all the pain and sadness. Cry instead if eating for comfort. She would want you to be successful praying for you to get through this painful time.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I'm a funeral director and alot of people ask how to deal with the stress... I always say go for a walk. A nice long nature walk. Take a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature. Recollect about the good memories. Cry. You'll start to feel way better.

Just remember all the emotions you are going to feel are real, and need to be felt. Embrace them.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
