At least 6-8, this made a big difference for me! You aren't getting a balanced diet. I don't like to do Soups for supper, they don't seem to stick with me for long. Get in a piece of meat and some vegetables! I'm going to really stress the Water thing! I use crystal light packets, otherwise I don't like to drink water at all! Water is so essential for your skin also. I don't have any excess skin hanging and I attribute that not only to exercise but to keeping my skin hydrated! it's amazing what water does for your body!

Take your current weight and divide it in half and that is the amount of Water in oz that you should drink in a day. If you don't drink enough, your body will conserve water and retain it.

tuna and cheese Snacks are portable. I don't eat until I get to work either. And I am also up at 5am or earlier. Also, what about pre cooking a package of turkey bacon or some turkey or chicken sausage? You can grab and go and even eat in the car if needed. Sounds like you are definitely short on calories and Water. But it also sounds like you're on a mission to work on it. If you're willing to do that you can make it happen! Wishing you lots of luck!

Be careful eating in a car. I learned the hard way. Keep plastic bags paper towels and pineapple juice in case you have to pull over

You said it! I keep wet wipes in there. I'm totally spill prone. I only eat in the car when I absolutely have no other option, otherwise I wait until I am at work and can eat on a level surface! :-)

Eating on a motorcycle would certainly be interesting! Nope you don't have to have meat just Protein and watch your carb intake. When I think protein I automatically think meat because I'm such a carnivore and I was trying to think of something you can grab and go. :-)

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
