So, I was denied again by TriWest!

I was told that 10 other people were as well in the same office!

Umm yeah, TriWest will no longer be the insurance for the military as of April I was told....Hmmmmm!

Hey!! Maybe the new insurance will cover it and ya know, actually approve this for you come April!?!?! At least you were able to find some kind of explanation, I think I would've driven myself crazy trying to understand and figure out "why not?"

Crystal, that's what I'm so afraid of....NOT being covered! But I need to stay positive, I NEED this surgery like years ago!

Karen, do you have TriWest? I just found out that Brian is no longer there? UGH, he did my last Peer to Peer!

You've got a great attitude girl! Keep it up, good things are coming!! May not know the reasons why it hasn't worked out yet, but I promise ya its with some purpose...maybe your new coverage will be better than what you have so it will turn out to benefit you more in the long haul?? From what i've seen on here you are always so upbeat and positive...don't let this get you!! And I understand needing it years ago...it took me so long to wrap my mind around actually doing this...but now that I see it as the tool and help that it is...I have been having to practice extra hard on patience cause its like c'mon already....couldn't we have done this like yesterday!? Hang in there girl...

Obamacare created an entire new bureaucracy called ACOs. Accountable Care Organizations. They work with doctors, hospitals, clinics to keep healthcare costs down. Expect less and expect to pay more. Just sayin.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
