Did anyone create the WW Facebook group? I'm interested in joining it.

I'm doing much better at noticing and listening to my soft top these past two days. I do eat all of my points in a day though plus some weekly points. I do really well with not feeling hungry after lunch, but I've noticed that a few hours after dinner I am hungry again, and then a few hours after that I'm hungry yet again. I am pretty sure I could use a fill (probably a pretty good sized one), but am really dreading the 4 hour drive to go get it. Also, if I'm being honest with myself, I'm afraid I'm going to get in trouble because I've gained weight over the past year since they've seen me. I'm also afraid that if I get another fill I'll be too tight and then have to do another 8 hour round trip drive to get an unfill. But, I think my desire to be successful is stronger than my fear of being reprimanded and the inconvenience of driving out of town (which I totally hate doing).

My question is, and I need help understanding, I get my band in March, so I am learning, if you get banded and go by what your Doctor say's, why do you need to pay more money to join some find of diet program? For me diets got me in to this mess to start with. So can you help?

My feelings exactly. My very first blog post speaks to this....WW is what got me to my Lapband. Last fall, when rejoining WW for the zillionth time, I just stepped back and said I cannot do this anymore. Sure, WW got me to lose weight but never to keep it off. I was also very turned off by their lipservice to good nutrition but at the same time pushing all their packaged goods and fake foods filled with sodium and so very processed. Message to WW: you can't be all about healthy eating and good nutrition and at the same time sell your fake plastic foods. That's a real conflict of interest.

I did however benefit from the group support. Which is why I love this site; it is my group support.

But I was delighted to get banded, come home and through out all my WW materials. Never again!

Does anyone do weight watchers? This site used to have a great weight watchers group but it fizzled out.

I have been attending weight watchers for a year and have found it a great support system as well as a great way to keep my weight in check. I've lost about 90 pounds and don't want to start heading in the wrong direction. I'm not able to follow the points but that's OK...I've found what works for me.

I lost 75lbs on WW and kept it off for three years. It's an awesome program and will help you change your life.

Unfortunately for me, after losing all that weight I met my now husband and spent 10 years partying. (I guess I changed my life twice! Haha!!) and while I tried again multiple times over the years, I just couldn't duplicate the magic I felt that first time around. But have only the best things to say about the program as a tool....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
