Weather changes - Tight this Morning

Recommended Posts

Rain, Sleet, Snow and cold weather......

They say your band gets tighter with weather/barometric changes....

I am having the toughest time getting my morning smoothie in....been over 30 minutes and not finished yet...one time I had to stand over the sink thinking it was coming back up....

Between you and me...I LOVE IT!

This will pass, always does, usually as the day goes on, BUT it is assuring the band is still there functioning....I would be more alarmed if I felt nothing!

I learn to adjust and deal with it......

I have the same barometric pressure sensitive band as you I guess!

Hope the snow and sleet don't keep you from having a great day!

Weather changes wreak havoc with all of me. The weather in NC has been up and down (from the 70's to the 40's) this last week. My sinus pressure is intense and the drainage seems to be messing with my band. Not feeling much like eating anything, just drinking alot.

In Australia it's summer ATM and I find when it gets into the high 30's and it's humid my band tightens, I'd say its because of Water retention with the heat. Tomorrow is a day of 39c here in melbourne so it will feel like an instant fill by mid afternoon, but I'm not complaining, will always cherish my band no matter how finicky it is.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
