Don't base your weight loss on anyone else's! Remember, this is YOUR journey. 11 pounds down is great! If your concerned about gaining weight on mushies, find out how many calories you are allotted per day and stick to it and write everything that goes into your mouth down. Writing it down is not only a good idea for your information, but later if you are not losing you can show a nutritionist or doctor your diet and they may have suggestions of how to tweak it for better results! Same goes for your exercise regimen. Hungry is normal. You may even experience hunger after your first fill. This is just something you will have to fight until you get a proper amount in your band! Be assured, this is only temporary! This is not how it will stay! So don't be self destructive during this time, be patient! Good Luck, your doing great!

oh man i sure hope it gets better. I spent a lot of money. I am sure things will get better. it has to. I mean we are restricted some what and even with that we should still lose right? Maybe it just takes a little while. I am trying to eat a higher protien diet and walk for 45 minutes a day. I was always told if we consume less then we burn then we should lose weight. We just have to stick with it.

.

I will follow a liquid diet today, and return to Phase 4( solid foods w veggies) on tomorrow. My nutritionist said there will be restriction, so I may want to do mushies, and gradually work my way back. But listen to the Band, and stop when I'm full.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
