Love a girl that sees a opening and takes it! Lol. I agree that everyone is different! I was driving the next day because I never used pain medication. My doctor told me if I felt like walking to go ahead! He told me to listen to my body, it will let me know what I could or couldn't do. I was able to mow my lawn with my self propelled mower 3 days later. I would say not to push your body because someone tells you that you should be feeling a certain way at a certain point! Again, listen to YOUR body it will let you know! However, if your feeling great and would like to capitalize on your surgery by " faking it" with your family a few days, your secret is safe with me!

Thank you everyone for the recommendations on restrictions. I'm going to confirm with my family tonight that everyone who responded on the thread highly recommended all those restrictions plus a few more! I live on Royalty Street so I have the queen, prince, king, princess living with me. It will be a nice change seeing them running around for a few days waiting on me.

Work it girlfriend!

Funny thing is I did the same thing with my husband. His secretary wants to have LBS since she found out our insurance will cover it. My husband went and told her she couldn't b/c she couldn't take that much time off.lol

I went and had a talk with her and explained that I was playing it up.

Really he only missed the first night of dinner, but I made him carry all the groceries and laundry (after I did it),

poor baby suffered so. LMAO

Ok, I'm gonna agree with u. I know, it's pushing it a bit, but when I did stuff around the house my incisions really hurt. I even got more pain meds. Took a full 3 Weeks for me to feel like myself. I was banded 12/20 and just started at the gym yesterday. So, I say take it easy!! Best of luck. :)

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
