I have a platelet dysfunction disorder, basically my blood doesn't clot as well as it should. I plan on having the lap-band surgery. I will be working with my surgeon and oncologist to figure out what extra precautions that I need to take. Does anyone on here have or know someone who has a bleeding disorder who has went through the lap-band procedure? What was your/their experience like? Thanks in advance!

Yes, and you should be fine. Most of the of the time when you have lapband they give you a shot of blood thinner in your belly to thin the blood to prevent a clot. For you, you won't need it. I had a friend who had gastic with this disorder and did fine. As long as the doctors are aware they will be able to deal.

I have the opposite disorder I clot to much so I need extra thinner.

Thanks for the info! It has been hard to find people with similar problems! My Dr. Assured me that there would be no problem, but it's nice to hear it from both perspectives.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
