Holy cow, you've lost 148 pounds in 6 months? That's insanely amazing! Congratulations!

I'm so sorry about your poor foot!

Since you're normally active, I would just really carefully count calories and make sure to stay in a reasonable range. I would even consider contacting your nutritionist and asking them what a good calorie range is for you while you're unable to exercise.

Best wishes and I hope you feel better soon.

Any options for seated upper body work with weights or something? May not be your usual amount of exercise but you could get a little something in?

You might want to look at some youtube videos?

Check out resistant band exercises for seniors, for handicapped and just lower body. You should be able to adapt some of these exercises to accommodate your temporary handicap?

Also, if you're not weight bearing, consider some exercises using leg and ankle weights. They're fairly inexpensive at Walmart and Target? Again, check out the videos on youtube for the exercises.

I'd keep the weights on the lower end and go for isometric and longer duration exercises if you're looking to keep your heart rate up. Increase the weight if you want to build muscle?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
