wallflower 188 Posted January 13, 2013 I usually have 900-1200 calories a day, postop. Your daily calorie range will vary though depending what stage you're in on your weight loss journey. I used Protein Meal Replacement shakes 4 times a day for 2 weeks preop. Then even after surgery I will still sometimes have one for Breakfast instead of eating. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
ballajones 61 Posted January 13, 2013 Same as wall flower I stick between 900-1200 calories a day. 60 grams of Protein. My surgeon prefers I eat meals but I'm usually tight in the morning so I drink Protein Shakes instead. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted January 13, 2013 For losing weight I stick to 1000 calories. I did the Optifast shakes for pre op through mushies. I will occasionally do a carnation sugar free Bfast if I am on the run in the mornings but other than that my dr doesn't like me to do the protien shakes and he prefers I get my nutrition from food. honk 780 Posted January 13, 2013 Once healed my doctor does not want me using Protein shakes as Meal Replacement. The band is meant to work with solid food. A liquid does not keep you full, it washes right through the pouch into the big stomach. Because I have a long time between lunch and supper I do have a premade Protein shake on the way to the gym. It's premier brand that I buy at costco 160 calories for 30 grams of Protein.< /p> Because the band tends to be tighter in the morning some people have a Protein Shake for Breakfast. Because I have to leave really early in the morning I have a cup of hot coffee during my commute and then have a Greek yogurt for breakfast once I get to work. I have a fruited Chobani Greek yogurt mixed with half a scoop of Protein powder and unflavored Fiber powder, I add a couple walnuts and about a quarter cup of Kashi go lean high protein Cereal. The key to this is bringing the powder ingredients in 1 small container and the nuts and Cereal in another. 1 wallflower reacted to this
