Tightness in chest

Recommended Posts

I've been doing very well. Green zone/good restriction! 6 weeks ago I said I was good and didn't need a fill. Well, I noticed I was eating more during the holidays. Since my appt is next week, I figured I'll be careful and wait till then. Well-after doing the treadmill, I started to get pain in my chest through to my shoulder. I also had heartburn. I already had bad acid reflux so I took gasx and my medicine. Well, it's now 24 hours and it still hurts. I feels like gas. I got the burps but I'm getting worried! I now have a bad headache too. My acid reflux got better but still feels like its ready to perk up. Any advice ladies? I don't want to be having a heart attach and not know! :(

Thx. Kris

I'm in the hospital. It's not gas and not heart. They can't stop the pain. It's got to be Lapland related yet they keep ignoring me when I suggest it. Frustrating!

I hope everything works out okay for you; I am having similar issues but my surgeon still did a fill for me on Wednesday.

Well last night they removed 1/2 the Fluid and I am back in the hospital again! The chest pain is no better. They said my heart was fine but I am exhausted! I can deal with this pain anymore!! It's like a bullet logged into my chest!

I wonder if this is what is wrong with me? I am scheduled to see my doctor AGAIN on Monday. How did you diagnose the issue? This pain in my chest area literally makes me bend over ~ whew ~ too much like child labor :(

I am thinking this is MY story too . . feels like a spasm in my chest area; I just got to the green zone. How did your doctor treat your issue. I hope it was NOT a complete UNfill. I don't want to start over.

This can happen with or without a band, but being too tight can cause food to back up into your esophagus, causing spasms. It feels like you're having cardiac pain. A good home remedy for this (still use any medication you were prescribed) is essential peppermint oil, about 10-15 drops, in hot tea or ice Water. I have this problem throughout my GI tract, and it helps.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
