Destined*Lady*D 90 Posted January 11, 2013 Is anyone else out there using smaller utensils to help with portion and bite sizes? Does it help with time with your meals and did you just get the appetizer sized utensils? Feedback??? Is it worth it? Thank you in Advanced
honk 780 Posted January 11, 2013 No, personally I think it looks silly.
LouisianaLiLi 231 Posted January 11, 2013 I don't care what it looks like. For me, it works. I have a small plastic "child's" fork that I carry in my purse. I use it everywhere. I'm not going to have an episode if I can help it. Honestly, it's all in what you feel works for you. I use it, another bandster might not. You have to find what works for you and do that (within your surgeon's guidelines). 5 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT!, PattyGirl66, A New New Dawn and 2 others reacted to this
PattyGirl66 1,243 Posted January 11, 2013 I DO use smaller untensils when I am home only. The reason is because when I am home I am easily distracted and doing many things. This means I am not focused and can easily without intention place a bigger size portion of food in my mouth! Now, when I am out eating I noticed I am more cautious and aware of my surroundings when it comes to food. I take my time more, I enjoy my company, I place my utensils down more often, I never talk with any food in my mouth, this is why I don't need smaller utensils when out dining. However, whatever makes you feel comfortable and accountable, by all means break out the little utensils....... 2 ♕ajtexas♕ and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted January 11, 2013 I did at first, and now that I can judge bite sizes I just use regular. 4 ☠carolinagirl☠, ♕ajtexas♕, DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! and 1 other reacted to this
Nanu 60 Posted January 11, 2013 I've found that a shrimp cocktail fork works really well for me. 3 PattyGirl66, Destined*Lady*D and DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
line-dancer 810 Posted January 11, 2013 In the begging I use all the tools, smaller forks, plates no tv,measure every food every time, and others. Now I have experience and I don't always need to use them all. 1 DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! reacted to this
DELETE THIS ACCOUNT! 12,703 Posted January 12, 2013 Like others here, in the beginning I found a set of baby utensils to be very helpful. The little fork and spoon helped me to learn the proper bite size. Now that I've banded for a year, I don't use them anymore, but that's only because these days little bites are second nature to me. I say go for it- do whatever works for you! 1 Destined*Lady*D reacted to this
Jewelsm1127 351 Posted January 12, 2013 I've been using salad forks and teaspoons ever since I can remember wherever I go if they are available. For some reason I hate full size utensils.
Michele12 38 Posted January 12, 2013 I used childrens plates and utensils. I felt that it helped. 1 Destined*Lady*D reacted to this

♥LovetheNewMe♥ 1,216 Posted January 12, 2013 I say you do what works for you, we are all different and who cares how silly or ridiculious it is. I still eat off a small plate, use a smaller fork, time my meals I still measure and weigh my food and I am two years out and at goal. I plan to stay thin and it it works it works. 4 ☠carolinagirl☠, ♕ajtexas♕, Destined*Lady*D and 1 other reacted to this
♕ajtexas♕ 3,771 Posted January 12, 2013 Call me silly! I use a small fork, spoon & plate. Hubby knows when he set the table to put my special utensils out for me, lol. 3 Destined*Lady*D, ☠carolinagirl☠ and ♥LovetheNewMe♥ reacted to this
FLORIDAYS 3,040 Posted January 12, 2013 Is anyone else out there using smaller utensils to help with portion and bite sizes? Does it help with time with your meals and did you just get the appetizer sized utensils? Feedback??? Is it worth it? Thank you in Advanced At home I used baby utensils in the beginning to get used to small bites. At restaurants I didn't but I made sure to make myself eat properly. I thought it was a wonderful idea!!! Two year later I will still grab a baby fork or spoon occasionally with Pasta or a slider food liked mashed potatoes. Nothing wrong with it 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
Cooper1 4 Posted January 12, 2013 I use a baby spoon, if I don't I take to big of bites. I'm sure eventually I won't need to use it but for now it helps.
