Please fill in your profile so we know you better and can better advise you? It's so hard to comment if we don't know when you were banded?

If you are in pain, I would suggest calling your doctor's office and let them determine if it's anything serious or not.

I know many people that get pain if they overeat (including myself) where it's like the nerve in my stoma going straight to my head and gives me a headache. But, I wouldn't want to assume you are having the same thing.

It's always best to check with your doctor when it comes to pain, because only they can determine if the cause is something not to worry about or not.

With that being said, the vagus nerve runs pretty close to our band and stomach and some times if something happens to hit that nerve it can cause odd pains and or dizziness. I get the dizziness whenever my band is messed with. So if I get a fill to fast I get dizzy and pass out, or if I get stuck I will get dizzy.

My doctor also told me that the tube that runs from the port to the band is lose in there and can float around so sometime that will hit a nerve or something in there and cause an odd pain. I had a lot of that the first few months post op, but now I am fine.

Only a doctor can know and so sorry you may have a slip. Vomiting can cause that so they may deflate you completely for a while?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
