My list of NSV's!

Recommended Posts

Beyond the 88lbs I have lost =) there are a million other little things that make me happy on a regular basis. I didn't really have an major health conditions due to my weight, but I would imagine that those are the best NSV's for some people; not having to take any more meds, etc. Here is a list of mine...

  • Walking into a store and buying something off the rack without having to struggle to find my size and fit and such. Not to mention not having to spend a fortune on clothes that are in style and don't make me look 70!
  • Not being embarassed at the register when the cashier rings up my pants and then proceeds to hold them out for the whole world to see as they fold them.
  • Being able to cross my legs. I feel so much more lady like. Haha.
  • Being able to shave all the way up my leg without getting major razor burn. I believe that is due to my hormones balancing out and my legs not rubbing as much.
  • Being able to hike and play paintball and other activities without tiring after 10 minutes or being too embarassed to do those activities in front of people.
  • Sitting in the car next to my skinny best frind or sister and not continuously glancing down and noticing how much bigger my legs are.
  • Walking by a glass wall or mirror and being excited about my profile.
  • Getting a Facebook message from my "monster-in-law" stating that I am now smaller than her.
  • Being able to wear a thong without it being uncomfortable and completely lost for most of the day.
  • The old fashioned doctors scale dropping down to the 250 notch, then the 200, etc.
  • Having a lap. My puppy can now sit in it. <3
  • Being able to sit COMFORTABLY in a movie theater chair, restaurant booth, Plebotomy chair and with a seat belt on!
  • My PCOS is chilling out and I've started ovulating regularly! Hopefully a baby soon. =)

I'm sure I could go on, and some of these are ridiculously silly, but they all make a difference to me and make my world so much better. I heart my LapBand and would go through this process again and again and again. No regrets.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Had a sleeve in 2017, lost over 100 pounds. Had a DS surgery this year (2025) for more sustainable weight loss. 🤞

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
