Try to up the exercise a bit and that may help. Plateaus are normal occurrences while our bodies readjust to the new you!

Plateaus suck!! My doctor told me that plateaus are expect part of this journey and not to get discouraged, that even the most complient patient will hit some sort of plateau at some point. I hit one that last a little over a month- my doctor said it was normal and he never worries until the plateau has lasted over 3 months, then it is unusual.

Sometime simple changes like adding carbs back or cutting them out will break the plateau. Some time upping or even downing exercise can break it. Just look at what you can change up to see if you can break it.

I've had 2 and They do suck! The first one was just a few weeks and the doc said not to work out for a week and then get back to it hard. I did and it helped. =) The second one I am just coming out of. I weighed the same from 10/9/12 til 1/3/13! Ugh! Almost 3 whole months! It was partially my fault. All those Halloween/Thansgiving/Christmas/New Years parties. Haha. Not a great time of year for a Lapbander. I kicked up my veggies and Water intake and am now doing strength training 4 x a week and cardio (walking/jogging) the other 3 days. I have lost 2lbs in a few days and am satisfied I have come over the top. Thank goodness I didn't gain any during that time! Just floated between a few pounds. Good luck! It sucks, but you will get through it. =)

I'm going to my 3rd fill thursday .... You think a fill will help me break this plateau ??

After your fill you might want to try changing up your diet. Maybe go on a low/no carb for a week or increase your caloric intake so your body kickstarts it's metabolism again. Or, go the other direction and lowball your calories to around 800? Just mix it up and change your exercise routine while your at it. Just don't do the same things you've been doing.

Mostly I would recommend staying away from processed foods like breads or any grains at all for a bit?

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
