Erin O'Donnell 61 Posted January 7, 2013 Hi! So I just had a fill a few days ago and my surgeon has me on 3 days of liquids and 2 days of soft foods before moving on to normal food. I'm in the soft food stage now and am curious what people might consider 'soft'. This is my second fill but when I was in this stage then, I just ate Greek yogurt and soup....I'm getting kind of tired of Soup and yogurt and was hoping some of you may have suggestions. I understand that different people may be able to tolerate different foods in this stage but it'd be nice to have some ideas thanks!
doggylover 46 Posted January 7, 2013 Cottage cheese, or any regular meal in the blender (very well blended) with some broth to thin it...I think Pasta is considered "soft" as long as its in very small pieces..if i remember correctly.
Kime-lou 648 Posted January 7, 2013 scrambled egg with milk added to it before cooking keeps it soft and light. Canned tuna, refried Beans (add a little cheese and salsa- yummy), soft cooked veggies, SF pudding.< /p> 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
CHEZNOEL 4,061 Posted January 7, 2013 I agree with all of the above. Also I was told any fork tender meat was OK. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Applesauce is also good or cream of wheat.
doggylover 46 Posted January 9, 2013 I guess it depends on the doctor....I don't know why Pasta specificaly would stretch your band....??
Missmia9 33 Posted January 9, 2013 instant cream of wheat or grits. my dr. said flaky fish in VERY small bites is fine
brannewmee 103 Posted January 10, 2013 I guess it depends on the doctor....I don't know why Pasta specificaly would stretch your band....?? I guess your right. Follow your doctor's orders. My doc said never have rice, potatoes, tortillas, or bread. He said, I'm sorry, correction, all these items can stretch your stomach. These items expand in Water. My nutritionist said us that's what the doc says but she says once in a while is okay, as a treat. I've also read if your gonna have rice to only have 2 tablespoons at a time. What a joke right!!! Lol. But ya follow your docs orders.
doggylover 46 Posted January 10, 2013 Hmm, i'll be able to have all those things according to my doc but in small quantities. She has even suggested to try to find those but in a healthier version like brown rice, wheat tortillas, wheat bread (toasted even better)etc...the only restriction she gave me is carbonated drinks because those do expand the stomach. Maybe that the items you have listed can cause blockage and not stretching???
Heathermarie0407 67 Posted January 13, 2013 Egg salad is a good high Protein soft food.< /p> 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

honk 780 Posted January 13, 2013 I was never told I couldn't eat any particular food. Foods such is bread rice potatoes are higher in carbs and can affect your weight loss. I've cut out bread rice potatoes but that was really personal decision. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
