Mandylove 32 Posted January 7, 2013 I am 6 weeks post op and I'm finding that I can eat pretty much any food (breads, fruits, chicken) but just not a lot of it. Some foods make me feel fuller faster (ex. Chili) but I am eating a lot more than I originally thought. About 800-1000 calories a day. I've lost 25 lbs without a fill but was curious if this is normal. I am getting a fill within the next week and hope that will give me more restriction but was curious if anyone else has this same problem. Thanks in advance for any feedback! 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Banjo257 920 Posted January 7, 2013 I am 5 wks out, no fill. I could eat and eat if I didn't stop myself. I have counted on greek yogurt and Protein Shakes to fill me up. 700 to 1000 cals a day.
line-dancer 810 Posted January 7, 2013 that is great that you are controlling yourself so well It was very mentally hard for me to do that..I did but was always hungry now that I have had 3 fills I am not hungry and feel very happy at one cup of food every 4-5 hours and have lost 46 lb . I love the fact that I don't want to eat more and temptations are so easy to control now. 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this
2muchfun 8,927 Posted January 7, 2013 FYI- I was banded 11/28/11 so we're about one year apart. I experienced the same except I only lost 12 lbs that first two weeks. I had my first fill around 01/05/12 but it didn't do anything. I didnt start feeling any restriction from fills till my 3rd fill in late March. But I was able to eat less those first 4 months thanks to the band. I was starving most of the time it seemed like but the band helped me eat less so I didn't gain any weight during those 4 months. You're in what they call bandster hell, and until you start to get some restriction from your fills, you will probably remain there. But 25 lbs is awesome so you're well ahead of the game. Just concentrate on eating slow, eating small and chewing big because once you get restriction, you don't want to get stuck(and most of us do). Good luck. As forum member B-52 says "Until there's restriction, it's just another diet". tmf 1 ☠carolinagirl☠ reacted to this

Been fighting the hunger successfully but it is hard! I just would like to keep my food choices broad and not get stuck
Mandylove 32 Posted January 8, 2013 Thank you guys so much for all the feedback! So glad there are others out there who understand. I think alot of it is mental. When you get the surgery you expect something so different, like an automatic change and really once I was healed I could eat anything. I had to learn just cause I could, doesn't mean I should. Scheduling my fill this week, hopefully this will get me out of 'hell'. 1 2muchfun reacted to this
