Dacoop 84 Posted January 6, 2013 I am starting my workout routine back into my journey. I was bad about working out during the holidays. I can't keep moving forward without moving. Haha. Tell me how many days of week do you work out?
cheryl2586 3,053 Posted January 6, 2013 3 to 4 days 30 minutes that is all you need. You dont need to be a gym rat and you need rest periods to recover from exercise.
Nanu 60 Posted January 6, 2013 Thanks, Cheryl! I needed to hear that! The stress of feeling like you are a failure if you don 't exercise an hour+ a day is wearing on me. I'm afraid it's going to backfire.
kyrasgrandma 228 Posted January 6, 2013 I work out 3 x per week for 45- 60 min each time. One day with my trainer, one day in a class and one day on my own. Works well for me. Any more than that and I would probably give up. Best thing I ever did for myself was join a gym.
wildrose1966 396 Posted January 6, 2013 I work out about 5x a week, an hour each (in a class setting as if I was on my own, I know I wouldn't be motivated to stay for an hour). This is what I have been doing for about the last 4 years, so it is part of my routine. I fortunatly am a healthy fat person, no medical issues and am able to do pretty hard workouts. Nanu and Dacoop, just getting out for a walk around the block is perfect, and next month, around 2 blocks.........invest in some good music and headphones and the time will fly by....I love walking with my music. Do what you can, not what others are doing. Aerobics in the pool is good for you and you will surprisingly feel it.
goalseeker 695 Posted January 7, 2013 I set my goal at 4 days a week for 30 minutes. I have little oneS (2 and 4) so it's hard to commit more time than that. If I find the time and motivation to get more days in great if not I still feel good about 4 days. I started by just walking for 30 min. Now I do more intense workouts. Just start doing something you enjoy and you will start feeling better and want to do more.
LaShonh 7 Posted January 7, 2013 I simply started walking around the parking lot at work and over the holidays I received a new exercise bike. So between the two I am getting in at least 4-5 days a week (personal goal). 1 JerseyShoreDisneyDiva reacted to this
roziecakes 20 Posted January 7, 2013 I have a little baby, so I don't get to exercise as much as I did in the past. I tend to do a lot of short workouts throughout the day, and it adds up to about an hour a day I would guess? I get up and do 20 minutes of yoga each morning (well... almost, sometimes the baby needs me more than my yoga gets done), and I try to take at least a half hour power walk or jog. I run 4 miles 2 days a week. I do weight training and crunches and stuff like that in the evening after the baby goes to sleep, and before I do.
