msheavensent 1 Posted April 12, 2006 How soon can you have sex after having the band put on ? Well I guess it is different for everyone but I was just curious, I know this is a little out there , i'm really not a freak, it's a part of life, but I was just wondering ! Alexra 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Just as soon as you feel up to it... if that means 2 days after surgery... you go girl At least those are my surgeons directions....... other Dr's may differ.

dreaday 0 Posted April 12, 2006 you are not a freak.....don't worry. i wondered the same thing. the best answer i can give you is whenever you are comfortable enough to have sex. be careful. go slow. stop if it hurts. that's what worked for me!
Ms. Vicki 0 Posted April 12, 2006 Thanks Wheetsin.....for asking what I was afraid to. :laugh:laugh:laugh

msheavensent 1 Posted April 12, 2006 Ok I cannot explain what sex is, you guys are going to have to pick up the phone and call your parents, siblings, or bestfriends so they can tell u about the birds and the bee's ! I'm sorry I just can't explain that and I wanna believe yall are joking, but if not i'm sorry !
Tricia K. 0 Posted April 12, 2006 My surgeon's directions were the same as Alexra's. If I remember correctly, we waited for 3-4 days. Just make sure you hold the palm of your hand over your port site while in the missionary position. You'll understand why if you don't. :biggrin1:
waterlily1072 5 Posted April 12, 2006 Well my hubby isn't getting anything till my pain is gone. He will just have to deal, lol.
Wheetsin 714 Posted April 12, 2006 I wanna believe yall are joking, but if not i'm sorry !I've been married over 8 years, if I don't know what sex is yet, then DH is a much more patient man than I give him credit for!
lookingout 0 Posted April 13, 2006 um this might sound bad, but what happens? And how large is your incision? I am curious...Thanks!
Morsaille 4 Posted April 13, 2006 The port incision (at least mine) is about 2.5" long. It is the one that hurts. I barely noticed the others. It twinges if you shift or bend. A twinge isn't nearly as fun as it sounds. Putting pressure on it is a great help. We used a pillow between in missionary, I was OK on my knees or side after 7 days. Back to FULL activity a month later. winks
gadgetlady 4 Posted April 13, 2006 My dr didn't give specific directions, other than "when you're comfortable". I think we waited about a week. I'm a little over 2 months out now and still feel a bit of discomfort -- not pain -- in the missionary position. Port just feels weird and I have to press on it. missnikki 0 Posted April 13, 2006 Seems like someone got to the question before me. That was one of the first questions I was asked, how long we needed to wait?:think I guess they figured better get it while I can.:help:
